/After leaving British Antarctic Survey, one of Ashley Perrin’s first commissions was as ice pilot and guide on the sailing yacht Vivid, a 27-metre superyacht that was visiting Chile and Antarctica during her circumnavigation. The expedition across a lively Drakes Passage superseded several weeks cruising down and exploring the ‘canals’ on the Chilean side of Patagonia.
