Expedition permit applications for the region take a good deal of time to prepare, hence the guide and ice pilot logistics work starts during the northern Summer, including vessel visits and planning ready for the southern season ahead. Chart organizing and correcting, permit writing and stranding gear packing are just a few of the behind the scenes activities required to ensure an expedition runs safely, and seamlessly. Non disclosure agreements very often mean that AIP complete great projects each year in complete anonymity.
